Last month’s ICFF (International Contemporary Furniture Fair) was a very pleasant surprise for me. Instead of the usual suspects there were some new and fabulous finds, and our old favorites introduced some enticing new collections.
I’m still sorting through the rubble as we’ve been allocating items to client projects. There are too many things to mention in one post this year, so I thought I’d start with the best of some of the new textiles.
Perfect for our West Village townhouse project these handmade textiles were just what we were looking for for a guest room that will double as a kids’ room very shortly. Hand made in Brooklyn, elasticCo‘s one of a kind designs are modern and unique. We’re doing their “bambou” pattern woven onto white linen.
Also from Brooklyn, one of our favorite wallcovering companies, Eskayel was showing their new POOL COLLECTION which includes coordinating wallpaper, fabrics, and accessories.
Offered by my friends over at ALT for Living, who hosted an amazing post-ICFF party, Carolyn Ray’s ombre weaves were just what I was looking for for a Master Bedroom drapery treatment.
Not that I ever thought a swan chair was less than perfect, but these genius covers from Sinje Ollen give them a whole new look with her knit creations.
In keeping with an overall craft theme of the show, Teixidor’s Zuzunaga collection took away the ICFF Editor’s award for textiles.
My darling of the show was definitely Ana Romero. Having some clothing that bears her signature patterns, I was excited to see she is branching out into home decor.
You will certainly be seeing all of these on our upcoming projects.Stay tuned this week for more finds from ICFF 2012.
