Nirmada at Holiday House 2010

For the third consecutive year, breast cancer survivors and advocates have banded together to create a Holiday-themed Designer Showhouse event benefiting the Greater New York City Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure®.  I headed over there yesterday to experience the magic and beauty, all for such an important cause.
Since its inception, Holiday House has featured top designers in the field who are extremely talented and have a passion for the cause.  Holiday House is about the celebration of life, with each designer selecting a holiday or a special moment in life as an inspiration for their design.

Here are some highlights from the show:

And last but not least, a celebration that never materialized, my design for the Kitchen:

Nirmada's Design for the Earth Day Holiday House Kitchen

Unfortunately we were unable to secure enough funding for the Kitchen…Maybe next year! We were going to use it for celebrity chef tastings and events throughout the show in conjunction with Traditional Home and Marie Belle Chocolates, who ended up setting up a beautiful shop in the Courtyard:

There’s a lot more to see, and for the best cause I can think of. Hurry over, it ends December 15th.
