In honor of the opening of the Hestor Street Fair, we’re bringing you our favorites this weekend from the Lower East Side:
The Angora Shag Collection is inspired by Rya carpets of the 1950s. They are hand-woven in Turkey with a blend of Turkish angora and New Zealand cashmere wools.
Spotted at High Point – One of my old favorites Gus Modern, now with FSC Certified wood construction…
In honor of the Milan Furniture Fair, we’re bringing you our favorite Italian picks this week:
In response to a drop in attendance, and a lingering recession, the intellectual focus of the Show has swung away from producing tangible things, like furniture, toward the abstract process of applying design thinking to ethical issues, such as social, environmental or humanitarian problems.
I am definitely wishing I was in Milan right now for the 49th edition of the world’s biggest contemporary furniture fair: Salone Internazionale del Mobile 2010, April 14-19. Some 300,000 people will flock to this Italian city to soak up the launches, innovations, and ideas…I’m on the hunt for some eco-friendly diamonds among the many gems at the show.
Nirmada’s hand-picked antiques of the week. All at special pricing for Nirmada clients.
Kitchens and bathrooms are by far the most important rooms in the house when it comes to remodeling, selling and buying. Interest in these highly specialized and technical areas of the home gobbles up a huge portion of HGTV and DIY Web sites, and is a specialty among designers like me.
Pastels are certainly on-trend this season and in honor if Easter and the surprisingly warm weather here in NYC I thought I’d share some of my favorite pastel colored rooms for Spring!
Because we are moving our focus to ONLY using sustainable manufacturers and products, I’d like to showcase some of the goodies I saw at the show that fit the bill, not only from an environmental standpoint, but from some high-style design as well!
