Gratitude

November 27, 2008 12:02 am | No Comments

As this long weekend approaches, we’ve been getting ready for a big client presentation on Monday. I knew we needed to get all of our samples and pricing in before the holiday, so we were frantically calling our wonderful reps and begging for samples up until people went home early this afternoon.  I was speaking to Ailyn Cosineau at Ann Sacks tile, apologizing for the pre-holiday demands and she responded with this:

“I’m just grateful that we have clients, and that we are busy!”

This simple statement turned my entire day around and I replied with a “So am I!”

I am grateful for our fantastic clients, staff, consultants, advisers, reps, suppliers, contractors and friends. Grateful that we are busy in a time that is most uncertain for many. Take the time tomorrow to write down at least five things you’re grateful for. See how your outlook changes!

Haute Couture Goes Home Decor

November 21, 2008 1:02 pm | No Comments

One of the most exciting lines introduced at Market Week this past October is the new home decor line from Jakob Schlaepfer. Historically, JS has supplied high end textiles to the Fashion Market, supplying haute couture lines for Laura Biagotti and Jill Sander.  As designers began showing an interest in using the fabrics for their own homes, the introduction of the line was a no-brainer.

I think the most exciting part of the line is the ability to layer printed black-out shades, with shears in the same print. The line is distributed in the US by Savel, Inc.

At a time when the market’s falling as fast as the thermometer in New York, Nirmada introduces a cure for your fear of commitment. Nirmada’s Shoestring Service, offers you a chance to “try us on” with minimal investment for maximum benefit.

What is Shoestring Service?

Shoestring is a simple service where we give you confidence and direction to take your space to the next level with clarity.  The traditional model of “to the trade only”  no longer applies – the internet and catalog markets have opened up once exclusive resources to everyone.  In four hours we will come to your home or office and help you to create your own personal design scheme, that’s easy to implement and fun be an integral part of.

In this four-hour session we will cover as many areas as we can based on your priorities. We’ll give you:

  • a professional outlook on your space
  • a clear and defined scheme
  • answer any design questions you might have
  • a plan sketch
  • color schemes and paint colors
  • suggestions for furnishings and finishes you can purchase on your own
  • confidence to move forward on your own, as your budget and time allows

We offer you the chance to work with a professional for a fraction of the cost.  We focus on integrating your existing pieces, while spicing things up with new items from familiar brand-name websites, catalogs, and local shops.

There is no obligation to buy any products through us, however you are more than welcome to retain us to complete the design plan for you with our standard services.
